Plymouth City Council Makes The Grade

Plymouth is the first City Council to meet this high achievement. Commenting on their success, Paul Barnard, Assistant Director of Development (Planning and Regeneration)said: “We are clearly very pleased to make the grade! It’s recognition of the hard work and team effort in producing and publishing this final document in line with the LDF requirements”.

Since submitting the Core Strategy document Plymouth has purchased Limehouse Software and expects to collaborate, publish and consult upon more than 10 documents over the next 12 months. These include a number of Area Action Plans, the Waste Development Plan Document, Key Site Allocation Issues and Options and Supplementary Planning Documents.

This puts Plymouth amongst several City Councils including Manchester, Salford, Liverpool, Sheffield, Canterbury, Peterborough, Worcester and Cardiff to procure the Limehouse Software solution for the Local Development Framework.

The Core Strategy is a complex document requiring many inputs from often dispersed groups and individuals. The Core Strategy goes through multiple versions affecting content, images, references and paragraph numbering alike before it reaches the final submission document.

Jonathan Bell, Head of Strategy at Plymouth City Council commented on their recent purchase: “It became evident that the Limehouse Software solution would massively improve the project management, tracking and auditing elements of each project, enabling us to apply industry best practices to our existing process. We are looking forward to using the software so we can continue to deliver successful documentation and consultations with less effort and strive to consistently improve in a way that provides the best value for the people of Plymouth.”
