SOLACE implements market-leading consultation
SOLACE delivers consultations faster and achieves higher standards of interaction with their members.
Limehouse Software today announced that SOLACE – the Society of Local Authority Chief Executives and Senior Managers – is using Limehouse Software’s uengage software to create a consultation portal for gathering members’ responses to the Audit Commission’s proposed Comprehensive Area Assessment (CAA). SOLACE, the representative body for senior strategic managers working in the public sector, selected uengage to create the portal (http://solace-consult.limehouse.co.uk/), after using Limehouse Software’s ucreate solution to create the interactive CAA document.
Running for seven days, the consultation took the format of a user-friendly interactive document, inviting members to comment on the CAA, using a slick, web-based, paper-saving solution. This is in stark contrast to many traditional consultation processes, which expect citizens to read lengthy, complex documents, then complete a clunky and rigid questionnaire. To assist members to use the new consultation portal, Limehouse Software created an online “Help” movie, which steadily walked users through the process, step by step.
Giles Welch, CEO, Limehouse software said: “SOLACE is a highly respected representative body, and its endorsement of the ucreate and uengage products, is testimony to efficiencies and cost savings that uengage and ucreate brings to the collaboration process.” He continued: “SOLACE has now experienced the value of the solution, having seen a marked increase in representations, a significantly faster reporting process compared to its previous processes, and the ability to drill down much further into the data for improved analysis.”
Mike Bennett, Assistant Director General, SOLACE said: “We immediately saw the benefits we could derive from using Limehouse Software’s solutions. From collaborating on the supporting document through to creating our consultation portal, the process was smooth and enabled us to deliver our consultation within much faster time frames and in ways which enable a higher standard of interaction with our members.” He continued: “Since running the consultation we’ve been able to analyse our responses in detail and have seen a significant uplift in the quality of consultee representations as a result. This certainly was an excellent way to run a consultation.”
The Limehouse Software suite facilitates the collaboration, creation and publishing of policy, planning and strategy documents and the delivery of consultations. The suite comprises of two integrated elements: ucreate and uengage.
ucreate is the only web-based publishing solution with robust document collaboration and multi-channel publishing facilities, which enables customers to easily and cost-efficiently produce complex professional documents and content-rich microsites and portals.
uengage, a web-based, industry-first enterprise consultation system, manages the entire consultation lifecycle enabling organisations to consult all relevant stakeholders, citizens, employees or partners through the widest variety of response mechanisms, and analyse and manage the results through complete back-office functionality.
