Microsoft Word® integration
As Microsoft Word® is ubiquitous on users’ desktops, most organisations’ documents have traditionally been created and updated using Microsoft Word®. Unfortunately, the content created by this process is difficult to re-use, cannot be edited by mutliple users simultaneously or easily published to corporately branded PDF or AAA rated XHTML. Many customers who have adopted Limehouse Software's ucreate to deliver these and other major benefits have had to manually copy and paste information from legacy Word documents into the system.
This is no longer necessary! ucreate now allows you to import complete Microsoft Word® documents directly into the system without the need to purchase or install any plug-ins or desktop software.
How the integration works:
Word (.doc) documents can be uploaded into the system using any modern web browser. The user can specify if they would like to create a new structured document or add the Word content as a new section in an existing document.
Supported content features include:
- Word heading styles become structured document headings
- Support for tables and table formatting
- Import images to library (making them re-usable) to enable publishing to multiple formats
- Convert footnotes and cross-references
- Paragraphs, lists and text formatting (bold, italic etc.)
