Economic Assessments

The Local Democracy, Economic Development and Construction Act 2009 has placed a requirement on principal Local Authorities to prepare an assessment of the economic conditions of its area. Principal Local Authorities will be tasked with the production of a Local Economic Assessment (LEA) that will provide a common understanding of economy, to underpin the development of policies for key bodies operating within the area.

Limehouse offers a shared platform for Policy Lifecycle Management for local authorities and their partners to enable a cost-effective and coordinated approach to the development of their LEA. Our solutions enable significant operational efficiencies in the production of key documents and management of related consultations to ensure that your assessment delivers an inclusive and accurate LEA.

Key documents that may be produced as part of the assessment using the Limehouse platform include:

  • Executive Report

  • Topic Reports

  • Scenario Planning Portfolio

  • Monitoring framework

  • GVA Report

  • Enterprise & Innovation

  • Recession Impacts

  • Business Needs Assessment

  • Sector Profiles

  • People Section

  • Spatial Profile

  • Economic Infrastructure

  • Functional Economic Areas

  • Economic Updates

  • Town Centre Snapshots

The managed service is delivered through a secure portal, providing a common collaborative environment for all key stakeholders involved in the LEA to work together to ensure a comprehensive assessment that covers the entire local area.  The same platform is also used to manage all aspects of the consultation and engagement processes with the general public. Thereby eliminating duplication, delivering efficiencies through working together and improving the effectiveness of services.
